We woke to a fantastic morning, and broke down camp. |

We met Tom at the Pine Tavern Diner for breakfast, the same place Rob and I had eaten the night before. (Remember that place Kit? Dean? Reto? Kendall?) We finally got on the road around 10:30am. |
We once again continued along Mark's RCR
route.
Tom and Rob soon noticed hat my low beam was now out. Shit. I had brought along a spare bulb, but wanted to replace both of them, as high beams are a good thing on the type of roads we were traveling on. At every place we could find that looked remotely like they might have a bulb, we checked. Have you ever tried to find an H7 bulb? It is not easy! We finally found some in Philipsburg, PA. Phew. |

On the road to Hyner, PA, Tom lost a contact. So we took the opportunity to take a break. |

Some people took the opportunity to really take a break. :-) |

We deviated from Mark's route a bit in Portage, PA. we took Rt. 164 to Rt. 869 and skipped US 219. A little bit nicer. | |

After a long day, we finally arrived at Senaca Shadows Campground. We got there just as the sun was setting, which was a good thing, since I was leading, and didn't have any lights. :-) Near the end of the ride, a deer almost decided to cross in front of me, but thought better of it. When we got there, we found only 2 sites remaining. Phew! Unfortunately, someone had taken the "official NEDoD" site (#80), so we were forced to setup elsewhere. |
We hiked down to the same pizza joint we had eaten at the
year before. Unfortunately, we got the grumpy, older, waitress, not the
cute and cheerful one. Oh well. But we did have a very nice
dinner, enjoyed a six-pack with our 'za, and picked up another to take
back with us to the campsite. We headed back to the tents, enjoyed
the other beers, relaxed, and finally collapsed into our tents.
Once again, Col. Holbrook's 325 mile route somehow managed to turn into
413 miles. How does that keep happening?
