Slept in a little. Woke up to find Bill and Holly already up. After Sherri cooked us a great pancake breakfast, Sherri and Holly made their way off to church, while Bill and I went out to check out some of the local roads. This is where I discovered my first bone head move of the trip. When I arrived at Bill's, I was checking some wires out on the front of the bike. In doing that, I inadvertently turned on the grip heaters (yes yes, I know, they should be switched power). So, the battery was *dead*. Luckily, Bill has a very steep driveway. A quick bump start later, we were on our way. You would be amazed at how a bike reacts when there aren't enough electrons. The tach would work, then it wouldn't, the speedo would work, then not. The whole time the volt meter was beeping at me. Voltage jumped from ~7 to 13. Took a good while for it to stabilize. Bill leg me on a GREAT ride on some of his local roads. He is very, very spoiled. It started getting late, so it was back home to meet Sherri and Holly for lunch.
