Chattanooga, TN :

Ooops, somehow I messed up this page. This is it to the best of my recollection.
8:30am Slept in a little. Woke up to find Bill and Holly already up. After Sherri cooked us a great pancake breakfast, Sherri and Holly made their way off to church, while Bill and I went out to check out some of the local roads. This is where I discovered my first bone head move of the trip. When I arrived at Bill's, I was checking some wires out on the front of the bike. In doing that, I inadvertently turned on the grip heaters (yes yes, I know, they should be switched power). So, the battery was *dead*. Luckily, Bill has a very steep driveway. A quick bump start later, we were on our way. You would be amazed at how a bike reacts when there aren't enough electrons. The tach would work, then it wouldn't, the speedo would work, then not. The whole time the volt meter was beeping at me. Voltage jumped from ~7 to 13. Took a good while for it to stabilize. Bill leg me on a GREAT ride on some of his local roads. He is very, very spoiled. It started getting late, so it was back home to meet Sherri and Holly for lunch.

1:00pm Back home for a nice little lunch, then it was off to the lake and the boat! Bill truly has embraced the suburban lifestyle!! Here is Captain Bill! There wasn't a lot of wind out on the lake so we just motored out and around for a while. Everyone was having a good time, except maybe for Holly. Here is Holly and Sherri on the boat. After spending some time on the lake it was back to the dock where Holly started having much more fun on the swings. Then it was back to the house for some bratwurst! Had a great BBQ and then hung out for the rest of the night. Here Holly tried out my sunglasses.
10:00pm Bed time, nice and early to be ready for the next day.
