Slept in a little. Roger went off to work, I packed up a box to ship home (I packed waaaay too much), had a nice breakfast, then Jen took Dane and Bruce to the airport and left me here to type this up. Todne and Kim are on their way here, as will be Sean and Colby. The plan, ride north!! Heading for Redwood Forest!

Well, Todne and Kim arrived just about when expected, but Colby and Sean showed up much later than expected. So, after heading to Barney's for lunch, packing up, and getting going, we didn't leave until 4:00pm. We left the city, myself, Todne, Kim, and Sean, and headed up the coast. Made our way over to the Arco station where the Sunday Morning Ride leaves from, then followed 1 all the way up. I was riding a little faster then the rest, so I made it to the Stinsten Beach overlook in time to take some pictures as Kim, Sean and Todne rode zooming by.

Turns out there was a motorcycle crash a bit further up. We passed a GSXR off the side of the road and further up the ambulance and an R1 pulled over in the clearing. Found out the guy was air lifted out and the R1 was his riding buddy. Nasty.

Kept on heading up 1 until we made it to Skaggs Spring Road. What a fun road! With some great views! And another one. Here is Sean, and here is Kim.

It was starting to get late and a little dark, so the plan was to make it through and then find somewhere to crash for the night. We made it to 101 and went north, where we saw a sign for a KOA, so that is the way we went. It was quite a bit off the main road, and we went by many, many deer on our way there. We found a nice site, set up camp, then went looking for town and some food. The first place said "Open", but they had stopped servinf food (it was 9:30P), so we kept looking and finally found a pizza joint. A quick meal later it was back to camp and out for the night. A long, but good day! then there was three...
