It was up bright and early. I think we left the hotel by 7am and were at the track by a little before 8am. We were stuck out in the dirt lots, but it wasn't that bad. First, we made our way over to the vendor area to check out some of the bikes there. Here is a nice new Boxer Cup bike. BMW has some nice new bikes, I sat on the S and it was nice, just not $16K nice. Then it was over to the Honda tent. I tried to get some info from the reps on the XX replacement, but they were all tight lipped, only telling me that the dealer meeting is in September, and there is where any announcement would be made. Bastards. I did take a picture of this cool Honda bike, though. And one of Nickys MotoGP bike. Ran into a healing Jerry Wood and Dee Wood, that was cool!

After wondering around the vendor area for a while we made our way over to the turn 11 grandstands where our seat were. There was a little entertainment in the form of a stunt rider on a Monster. He was very good. Here is Dane and the front straight. And here are all the boys. We watched the MotoGP practice from the stands. The americans were riding strong! Here is Rossi heading out. After the MotoGP practice we wondered around the paddock. Ran into Kit and several other east coast folks! Saw some cool bikes, and some weird ones, and just took in the whole atmosphere.

It was back to the seat for the AMA superbike race. First there was a flyover by a pair of F18's! Very cool. There were a lot of spectators there. 45000 I think. Oh, WhooHoo! Jumbotron!

After the races we made out way back to the hotel, then a cab back over to Cannery Row. This time we all piled into 1 cab, and we found the only nice cabbie in the city. Adam got a picture I'll steal later. Another fun night on the row where we met up with Nils and Joe, and even Jack Tavares made an appearance! (Photos when I steal them from Adam). After severel drinks and shots later it was back to the hotel. We called for a cab but it never came so we started walking. After about 30 minutes of walking, we were finally able to get a cab. We decided a slightly later start in the morning was called for. Zzzzzzzz.
