Woke up and Jen cooked us a kick ass waffle breakfast. After packing up and figuring out the plan for the day we all suited up and made our way over to Adam's to hook up with Bruce and him. We all geared up and hit the road. Adam led us on a nice little tour of some very twisty, tasty roads. For a bit at the beginning I had to jump out in front to pick up the pace a bit and get my ya yas off. We then made our way into Pescardero, where we stopped for lunch. Hey look! Adam really does still have the RR and even remembered how to ride!! After a short wait in the bar we had a GREAT lunch, the green chili soup was fantastic. After lunch it was make time mode, so onto US1 it was and a blast down to Monterey.

Once we arrived in Monteret, Todne spit off to meet up with her friends, as did Kim. The rest of us made our way to the Embassy Suites to leave tickets for Andrew Evens at the Will Call window. While were were there we saw a lot of bike, including this absolutely stunning NR750. I have a new dream bike. This is it. Talked to the owner, I guess it is one of 5 on the road in north america. He trailered it there, but was riding it around later that night. Sweet.

Then it was off to find out hotel, then off to Cannery Row for some dinner. We opted for cabs since the "walking distance" on the hotel website turned out to be 4 miles. Um, no. We slip up into 2 cabs. I for BO cabby. Oye! The others got angry cabby #1. I think they won. Once at Cannery Row we picked a nice little place to eat, the smae place we ate a few years ago it turned out, where we met up with Sean. After dinner it was just hang out on Cannery Row and check out the madness. This guy made the mistake of doing a burnout. The cops just swarmed on him. We also met up with Todne, Kim, Deb and Craig, Ilya and Sam, Alan from MotoMarket and a whole bunch of east coast folks, it was wild! We did fine Big Johns new ride! There are a lot of wild bikes there, including this one, call "Gorrilla". Those are 300 series tires on the front and back. I think it started out at a Falco.

Once we got our fill of the madness it was back to the hotel. We called for 2 cabs, one arrived fairly quickly and that is the one I went in. We had to convince folks that it was indeed out cab, as they were trying to snag it from us. Our cabbie said she could tell the guy was Jewish, so she wasn't going to take him. Hmmm, now we have anti Semite cabbie. The others had to wait much longer, and fight off a cripple for their cab!
Once back at the hotel, it was decided that an early start was the goal, set the alarm to 6am, and right to bed. |
