CB1 Engine Swap Party!

So, on Saturday Feb 17th, 2001, a whole bunch of us gathered at Kit and Dane's place to do a little emergency repair work on Ann's CB1, that suffered some damage during a crash in turn 3 last season.  Armed with tools, beer, and good intentions, we dug in!
Rob and Rob contemplate the situation.  OK, we got the old engine out, now what?

Neither Dane nor Patrick are sure what the next step should be.
One CB1, sans engine.
Patrick decides the prudent thing to do is to adjust the valves on the new engine, before it is installed in the frame.  Here is is with the cams out of the new engine.
Patrick re-installs the cams while Jen and Roger watch in the background.  Patrick is very careful to avoid the "pink" sound.
Hmmmm, purty gear driven cams.
Doesn't everyone's living room look like this?
Rob checks out the CB1's carbs while Dane looks on.
Busted. Paul doing his best to help out with the bike, by not helping out.   :)
Kit, Cooch, and Jen check out the progress.
Cooch, doing her best to situate herself in the best possible location to be in the way.
Patrick and Rob discover that the old engine still has some oil left in it. Ooops.
Doing their best to get the rest of the oil in the drain pan, and not on the floor with the rest of it!
Rob works on removing the clutch cover off the old engine for transplantation onto the new one.
Parts everywhere!
Ok, we have have the old engine out, and new engine waiting to go back in, we just need to get it back in the frame.
Hmmmm, purty engine bits.
The hosts relax for a bit.
Patrick preps the valve cover.
Patrick+working on bike+large cup of coffee = Happy Patrick!
Um, no comment.
Time to hoist the new engine into place.
Sandy, Ian, and Jen watch on as the new engine is installed.  Sandy looks a bit nervous.
Lining up the engine.  Dane has the "persuader" at the ready, just in case.
Patrick snuggs up the engine mount bolts.
Oh no! Patrick breaks down and consults the manual!
A happy Ann.  Finally, it is starting to look like a complete bike again.
How many tool boxes dos it take to swap and CB1 motor?  One, two...
Three, four...
Five, six, seven, eight, and nine.  Whoa.
All nine toolboxes in one shot.
Ann tries on a par of chaps.  Whoohoo!
Ann wonders to herself "Why do they keep asking me how many bikes I have?"
Would you let this guy work on your bike?  Ann did!
And just so you don't think the above shot was staged.
Ann gives it a test fitting, so Patrick can adjust the shift lever.
It's been a long day.  Kit and Cooch take a break.
Happy Patrick after a day of work well done.
