Redwood City, CA:

US1, Big Sur, Get to Adam's, Bruce and Dane fly in

Original images here.
I got up early with Lisa as she had to goto work. Said goodbye and was on the road by 8am. As expected I hit some traffic heading through LA. I was tempted to lane split, but decided against it since the bike was loaded with the bags and I wasn't sure how wide it was. It was actually a very tiring ride in the morning, Interstates suck. Once I got north of Santa Barbara I jumped on US1 and followed that all the way up. It was *chilly*. Temps in the 60's! It was very surreal, on my right I had a cliff face up and nice blue sky. On my left a sheer drop down and solid fog. Very cool.

As I was riding, I saw a lot of bikes. I was passing some, and other passed me. There was a group that passed me, and then I has a GS12 on my tail for a while. After a while I waved him by as I thought I was holding him up. Then I noticed the New Hampshire plate! Then an Aprilla passed me, but kept next to me waving. Ha! I know that guy. We pulled over and I said hi to Ilya and his buddies. They were only going as far as Monterey that day, so I said goodbye and continued on.

Rode up to Big Sur and took some pictures. I saw a lot of Sea Lions playing in the water. Very beautiful coastline.

I made it to Adam's by about 6:30pm. Met the doggie Charlie and unpacked. Then it was off for dinner (some great Ramin!), then we picked up Dane and Bruce from the airport. Back to the cabana, set up sleeping areas, then crashed for the night.
